Tela Blanca…Sebastian

Tela blanca signifie en espagnol “tissu blanc”, voilà le point de départ de cette séance photo réalisée en mai dernier à Barcelone. Cette séance photo a été réalisée avec un simple rideau blanc qui trainait chez moi. Je devais partir à Barcelone et je voulais trouver un projet autour de 3 modèles que j’avais envisagé en séance photo là bas mais je ne savais pas trop vers quoi aller et que faire avec un temps de présence sur place très rapide, d’où cette idée de lier ces 3 séances photos ensemble par ce tissu. 

3 modèles masculins, 1 tissu et de multiples possibilités chaque modèle utilisant ce tissu à sa façon dans des lieux différents représentés par de la pierre, de la végétation et du métal.

Je commence par la fin et cette séance avec Sebastian mon dernier modèle du voyage, jeune italien vivant dans la capitale catalane. Sebastian est admirable, il a déménagé là bas sans sa famille et à réussi à se faire une place à Barcelone mais aussi une belle image de modèle en travaillant avec de nombreux photographes qui ont su révéler sa plastique impeccable et son côté bad boy. Vous commencez à me connaitre, je préfère la tendresse à la dureté et j’ai voulu avec lui casser ses codes pour révéler une part plus sensible.

Nous avons réalisé ce shooting dans le quartier de la tour Agbar de Jean Nouvel, un quartier d’affaires très moderne avec de hauts buildings. Le contraste entre l’aspect très urbain et la douceur de Sebastian est saisissant. 

Je suis très heureux du résultat qui non seulement est tendre mais aussi plus aérien avec ce tissu porté par le vent qui contraste parfaitement avec l’attitude de Sebastian, un ange est parmi nous là où on le verrait plus comme un diable. Sebastian s’est laissé transporté pour mon plus grand plaisir et comme cette séance fut la dernière de mon séjour à Barcelone, je ne pouvais pas rêver mieux pour finir ce voyage photographique.

Un grand merci à Sebastian pour sa participation à ce projet, sa gentillesse et ses beaux sourires qui m’ont donné l’impression de travailler avec un véritable ami.

Tela blanca is Spanish for “white fabric”, and was the starting point for this photo shoot, which took place last May in Barcelona. This photo shoot was done with a simple white curtain I had lying around my house. I had to go to Barcelona and I wanted to find a project around 3 models that I’d planned to shoot there, but I didn’t really know what to do with the short time I’d be there, hence the idea of linking these 3 shoots together with this fabric. 

 3 male models, 1 fabric and multiple possibilities, each model using this fabric in his own way in different locations represented by stone, vegetation and metal.

 I start at the end with this session with Sebastian, my last model of the trip, a young Italian living in the Catalan capital. Sebastian is admirable, having moved there without his family and managed to make a place for himself in Barcelona, but also a fine image as a model by working with numerous photographers who were able to reveal his impeccable plasticity and bad boy side. You’re beginning to know me: I prefer tenderness to toughness, and I wanted to break with his codes to reveal a more sensitive side.

We did this shoot in Jean Nouvel’s Agbar Tower district, a very modern business district with tall buildings. The contrast between the very urban aspect and Sebastian’s softness is striking. 

 I’m very happy with the result, which is not only tender but also more ethereal, with this fabric carried by the wind, which contrasts perfectly with Sebastian’s attitude: an angel is among us where we’d see him more as a devil. 

Sebastian let himself be transported, much to my delight, and as this was the last session of my stay in Barcelona, I couldn’t have wished for a better way to end this photographic journey. A big thank you to Sebastian for his participation in this project, his kindness and his beautiful smiles, which made me feel like I was working with a true friend.
