Hugo’s Night Call

Bonjour à tous et toutes. Ravi de vous retrouver après quelques semaines d’absence pour un nouveau shooting avec Hugo nommé “Night Call”. Ce projet, me tient à coeur car je tenais à ce qu’il existe plus tôt en 2023, j’avais réalisé cette séance avec un autre modèle, qui n’a finalement pas souhaité la diffusion des images jugeant leur caractère trop osé. J’avais fait cette séance, j’ai du ne pas la publier par respect pour le modèle, c’est aussi ça la vie d’un photographe malheureusement. Je suis donc ravi d’avoir pu croiser la route d’Hugo qui a très gentiement accepté de recréer cette séance avec moi et même d’incarner encore mieux le projet que j’avais en tête. 

Hello everyone. Delighted to see you again after a few weeks’ absence for a new shoot with Hugo called “Night Call”. This project is close to my heart because I wanted it to exist earlier in 2023. I had done this shoot with another model, who didn’t want the images to be published because she thought they were too risqué. I did the shoot, but had to refrain from publishing it out of respect for the model - that’s the life of a photographer, unfortunately. So I’m delighted to have crossed paths with Hugo, who very kindly agreed to recreate the session with me and even better embody the project I had in mind. 

Hugo est un jeune lyonnais extrêmement sympathique, créatif, drôle, touchant et sincère qui a fait le déplacement jusqu’à Montpellier pour réaliser cette séance photo et je ne pouvais qu’être enthousiaste à l’idée de le recevoir. Nous nous sommes promenés dans cette ville qu’il ne connaissait pas, on a mangé une pizza et pris le temps de discuter et mieux nous connaitre. Le lendemain, chez moi, nous nous sommes lancés dans ce shooting photo lumières éteintes et atmosphère travaillée avec différentes teintes de couleurs.

Hugo is an extremely likeable, creative, funny, touching and sincere young man from Lyon who came all the way to Montpellier to do this photo shoot, and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome him. We walked around the city he didn’t know, ate pizza and took the time to chat and get to know each other better. The next day, at my place, we embarked on this photo shoot with the lights off and the atmosphere worked with different shades of color. 

“Night Call” est un projet qui parle des influenceurs se lançant sur des plateformes telles que “Only Fans”, cette idée m’a toujours fascinée : payer pour partager l’intimité de quelqu’un au quotidien qui se plie presque quotidiennement à cet exercise devant des milliers de personnes. En y réfléchissant, cela m’a fait penser aux anciens téléphones roses, on payait (très cher à la minute) pour parler fantasmes avec une personne au bout du fil. L’imageries de ces pubs que je voyais tard à la tv plus jeune me fascinait, un exemple anglais très cliché peut être vu ici. 

“Night Call” is a project about influencers launching themselves on platforms such as “Only Fans”, this idea has always fascinated me: paying to share the intimacy of someone on a daily basis who bows almost daily to this exercise in front of thousands of people. When I thought about it, it reminded me of the old-fashioned erotic chat-line, where you paid (at a very high rate per minute) to talk fantasies with someone on the other end of the line. I was fascinated by the imagery of those commercials I used to see on late-night TV when I was younger, and a very clichéd English example can be seen here. 

Hugo a complètement compris l’idée en jouant le rôle de cet influenceur s’exposant au regard de la foule, j’ai voulu le mettre en scène comme s’il était face à un écran où le public pourrait le voir en live et lui demander de faire tout ce qu’il souhaite. J’avais une lampe d’appoint avec laquelle je me suis amusé, l’idée qu’Hugo éclaire les parties du corps que le public demande à voir à quelque chose d’excitant, on focalise l’attention sur une partie du corps, il se dévoile progressivement et la tension monte. 

I wanted to stage him as if he were facing a screen where the public could see him live and ask him to do whatever they wanted. I had an extra lamp that I played with, and there was something exciting about the idea of Hugo lighting up the parts of his body that the audience wanted to see. You focus your attention on one part of his body, and he gradually reveals himself, building up the tension.

Je voulais une atmosphère sombre, peu de lumière, un parfum d’interdit. Imaginez vous tard la nuit vous laissant porter par vos pulsions à regarder sur un écran un fantasme prenant vie sous vous yeux, voilà l’histoire et l’émotion que je voulais amener par cette séance photo. Des poses lascives, langoureuses auxquelles Hugo a ajouté un accessoire ramené pour l’occasion : un harnais! c’était la première fois que j’en photographiais un et je dois dire que cela m’a amusé d’imaginer Hugo le porter et jouer avec pour le plus grand plaisir des spectateurs. 

I wanted a dark atmosphere, little light, a scent of the forbidden. Imagine yourself up late at night, watching a fantasy come to life on a screen. That’s the story and emotion I wanted to convey with this photo shoot. Lascivious, languorous poses to which Hugo added a special accessory: a harness! it was the first time I’d ever photographed one, and I have to say I was amused to imagine Hugo wearing it and playing with it, much to the delight of the spectators.

La texture du cuir contre sa peau me plaisait et j’ai donc demandé à Hugo de frotter ce harnais contre son visage et de le lècher. Vous n’avez pas le son mais le bruit du cuir contre lui et ses baisers très tendres ont amené une sensualité supplémentaire à ces images, capturer cela fut un vrai privilège et je suis heureux de vous partager cela aujourd’hui. Nous avons été plus loin ensuite en jouant avec ses chaussettes, l’humeur de cet instant était au kink, autant en explorer un autre et je dois dire que pour une première fois pour moi dans cette thématique, j’ai trouvé l’expérience intéressante, je n’aurais jamais fait de telles images il y à quelques années mais je suis heureux d’avoir pu expérimenter cette thématique, d’avoir osé. 

I liked the texture of the leather against his skin, so I asked Hugo to rub the harness against his face and lick it. You don’t get the sound, but the sound of the leather against him and his very tender kisses brought an extra sensuality to these images, capturing this was a real privilege and I’m happy to share it with you today. We took it a step further by playing with his socks. The mood of the moment was kinky, so we might as well explore another, and I have to say that for my first time with this theme, I found it an interesting experience; I’d never have made images like this a few years ago, but I’m glad to have been able to experiment with this theme, to have dared.

Je suis heureux de l’avoir fait avec lui finalement car lui aussi a osé aller plus loin avec moi par rapport à ce qu’il montre de lui en général et pas tout le monde n’est capable de cela, je lui en suis donc très reconnaissant.
